So today I pulled up the last of my tomato plants and harvested thyme and oregano to dry. As I was washing the herbs, I kept thinking how much I really, really like thyme. You all have conversations in your heads about food too, right? Anyway, I was on my way to declaring it my favorite herb - I love it with mushrooms and with chicken and in soups and on potatoes and so on. But then I remembered sage and how much I love sage. With butternut squash and with pork chops and apples and with chicken ...... Hard decisions when it comes to those herbs! What's your favorite?
Here's this week's menu, enjoy!

Menu Plan Monday 10/18/10
What a lovely fall we're having! This week is "perfect" fall weather in my book - high's in the 60's, sunny and a light wind. I think we're at peak color for foliage right now too. Due to mild temps, I've still got peppers growing in the garden along side my pak choi, romaine lettuce, carrots, & wax beans. Those wax beans have been producing for at least the last two months (they were a mid/late summer planting) - but I do think they are about done.
Here's this week's menu!
Monday: Chicken Fried Steak, Roasted Potatoes & Wax Beans
Tuesday: Chicken, Pepper, & Pak Choi Stir Fry, Egg Drop Soup & Salad
Wednesday: Jamaican Jerk Drumsticks, Rice, & Chili-Lime Corn
Thursday: Parmesan Tilapia, Pesto Potatoes, & Salad
Friday: BBQ Chicken Pizza

Menu Plan Monday 10/4/10
When Mike saw the menu for this week, he uttered this phrase: "We're going around the world!" In a way, we are! Many of these are old stand-by recipes though; I'm not trying anything too new this week. Last week had four new recipes, three of which were hits (the one that wasn't was the fish dish - I think it would have been much, much better with fresh fish). So, what does a week of stand-bys look like for our family? Take a look:
Monday: Pesto & Cream Cheese Stuffed Chicken Breasts, Salad (from the garden!)
Tuesday: Moo Shu Pork (using garden pak choi), Rice & Egg Rolls
Wednesday: Tater Tot Hotdish (this has to be the very first thing I made growing up - now I don't use canned soups but still...) & Salad
Thursday: Slow Cooker Green Pork Chili (okay, this is new - we'll see how it goes over!) & Black Beans
Friday: BBQ Chicken Pizza & Salad
